Job Title: Housing Assistant
Supervisor: Housing Case Manager
Shift: Monday (10am-6pm), Tuesdays through Fridays (7:30am-3:30pm)
Employment status: 1 FTE (40 hours/week), non-exempt, $14 per hour
Summary: The Housing Assistant implements all aspects of the housing programs Community Sharing Program administers under the supervision of the Housing Case Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interview clients to determine eligibility for various housing benefits offered by Community Sharing Program.
Authorize housing benefits for eligible clients within program and agency guidelines as resources are available.
Maintain records and files as required by contracting agents.
Provide case management to help individuals and families move towards self-sufficiency. Provide advocacy, information, and referral.
Follow all Community Sharing Program’s policies and procedures.
Attend meetings as required.
Conduct home visits as required.
Maintain high standards of confidentiality.
Represent the agency in the community with professionalism and integrity.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Experience working with disadvantaged/diverse populations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and staff information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer and database skills.
Valid ODL, car insurance and reliable vehicle.
Familiar with community resources.
Knowledge of case management protocols and procedures
Ability to pass criminal records check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual (English/Spanish), trained in HMIS database.
